Community safety begins with personal safety and responsibility. Part of being safe
is knowing what possible dangers or hazards there are and taking steps to prevent
crime and protect yourself.
A few tips that you can take to help prevent crime.
* LIGHT UP dark or secluded areas around the house.
* Leave your FRONT PORCH LIGHT ON through the night.
* TRIM BUSHES to limit hiding places.
* KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOURS, at least the neighbours on each side of you and
exchange phone numbers.
* Be AWARE AND ALERT. Know the cars and the people that are normally on your street.
* REPORT suspicious activities to the police at 984-3164 (Spanish Town).

WHAT IS NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH?
Neighbourhood Watch is one of the biggest and most successful crime prevention schemes ever. It is based on simple ideas and values that are shared by many people around the country:
'Getting together with your neighbours to reduce local crime and disorder in the bid to make your neighbourhood a safe and better place to live, work and play'.
Neighbourhood Watch is not just about reducing crime – it is about building community spirit and good relations. It brings local people closer together with common goals; to tackle crime and disorder and to keep an eye on each other's property.
