Year 2004-2006

President

Mr. Winston Chin

Captain Winston Lloyd Chin hails from the second free village in Jamaica, a District nestled in the hills off the north coast in the garden Parish of St. Ann amed Sturge Town. He received his early years of infant and primary education in this village before migrating to the north coast in Discovery Bay to further his education and training, where he was successful in the technical entrance examination and receive a scholarship for Holmwood Technical High School.

At Holmwood he majored in Mechanical Engineering and was very active in the Cadet core and reached the rank of Sergeant Major in forth form. It was on to national youth service after Holmwood here he taught for one year at Browns Town High School then Secondary. Teaching was not his calling so he received another scholarship to study navigation in Havana Cuba which he took up and completed the first year before returning to Jamaica to complete his studies at the Jamaica Maritime Training Institute Now the Caribbean Maritime Training Institute.

He completed his training to the Master Mariner level and in the following years spent most of his early life at ea. On returning from sea he was employed to Zim Container Service as the operations Manager for the Caribbean and Central America for five years before moving on to be in the employ of the Government where he is now at the level of a Senior Marine Surveyor.

In April 2001 Captain Chin was the fourth homeowner to move into White Water Meadows with his family and from ever since the challenges and struggles never seems to relent. In October of the same year there was a need to unite and form an association and this was done in he park with a handful of residents. Although not being the president at time Captain Chin played a vital role in the development of the association and offer representation at various meetings and fora. He took a leading role in developing and ratifying the constitution.

He took over the running of the association when the first president Mrs. Vilma resigned and went on to be the first president elected under the Constitution in August 2002. In 2004 he was re-elected for a second term and is now completing his final term in office as president.

Captain Chin is married and the father of two girls.
